The idea for The Ocean Oracle came to me a few years ago and it was an ‘ah ha!’ moment I am grateful I paid attention to. I have always felt nurtured and supported by the ocean and its ability to heal, and I wanted to capture that healing power with stories and messages. After spending the last 27 years living in Australia, in March 2022 we packed up our lives and moved to Block Island, RI, the place where the Oracle began... kind of. We are here for the time being, enjoying the seasons, and reconnecting with family and friends. It is a constant joy to be so close to the ocean again.
About the deck - What message does the ocean have for you?
Have you ever spent time by the ocean and felt its ability to nurture, support and heal - whether it’s looking out into the water, walking along the sand, swimming in the ocean or collecting shells and rocks at the ocean’s edge? There is something so special, so primal, about being near the ocean and this oracle was designed to continue that nurturing, support and healing even when far from the ocean’s roar.
The Ocean Oracle is a 45 card deck, along with a 32 page interpretation booklet, which uses Story and Messages to help with Remembrance – a remembrance of our soul Self and who we are. We, as humans, are ~70% water and cannot help but be influenced by large bodies of water, such as the ocean. We all have a deep connection to the ocean, whether remembered or not. This oracle offers wisdom of the ocean and its surrounds, by using Story to tap into our Remembrance around what the ocean holds for us. The Messages which follow the Story help lend clarity to what a particular card may represent in a reading. The cards can be used with a specific question in mind, or as a tool to offer guidance in a general way.
The Story is often subtle but can affect us deeply as it works on different levels of healing. The Messages ask questions of us and will resonate on whatever level healing needs to take place. In this way, the healing is gentle and profound, with the person using the cards able to absorb what they need in order to remember and heal.
The deck uses beautiful photos which are designed to gently support the Story and Messages. Each card is numbered and has a name and message associated with it.
